Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making dresscampaign.org accessible to everyone, and how we work toward it.
Last updated: TodayOur commitment
Dress Campaign Inc. is committed to making dresscampaign.org usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe every teen — and every visitor — should be able to access our content and take part in our mission, regardless of ability.
Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of abilities, including blindness and low vision, motor disabilities, cognitive limitations, and hearing loss.
Measures taken
- Semantic HTML — landmarks such as header, nav, main, and footer give the page clear structure.
- Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable and operable without a mouse.
- Color contrast — body text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for readability in all lighting.
- Reduced motion — animations respect the visitor's reduced-motion preference and are disabled on request.
- Alt text — all images include descriptive alternative text.
- Focus indicators — a visible outline always shows the current position when tabbing through the site.
We review new pages and features as they are added, and we treat accessibility as part of every build rather than an afterthought.
Known limitations
Donations are processed through PayPal, a third-party service. The PayPal checkout experience is hosted by PayPal and may not meet every accessibility standard under our control — we are not able to modify PayPal's interface.
If the PayPal checkout is difficult for you to use, please contact us and we will help you complete a donation another way.
Assistive tech tested
We test the site with screen readers including VoiceOver and NVDA, with keyboard-only navigation, and with browser zoom. We also check color contrast and reduced-motion support using browser tools.
Our testing is carried out on a best-effort basis by volunteers. If you encounter something that does not work with your assistive technology, please tell us so we can fix it.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback. If you find an accessibility barrier on this site, please email us at [email protected] and describe the issue, the page where you found it, and the technology you were using.
We respond to every accessibility report within 5 business days and work to resolve issues as quickly as we can.
Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may submit a formal complaint. Send your complaint to [email protected] with the subject line "Accessibility Complaint." We will review it and respond with a resolution or clear next steps.
